'This is the most rapidly changing business I've ever been in.'

RUPERT CAMPBELL is currently Dixons Area Manager for South East London, Kent and Sussex. His many achievements since he joined the business include a nomination for Retail Manager of the Year, and helping launch the amazingly successful Currys in Ireland and the Old Kent Road.

'The business has changed tremendously in my time here. In fact this is the most rapidly changing business I've ever been in. We have to be fast because our customers expect us to be at the cutting edge so we're constantly upgrading our stock and sharpening the way we work. It makes for exciting work. I was initially attracted to the Dixons Group for a number of reasons. It's a blue chip company with years of tradition behind it. It's highly rated in the marketplace, and progress is dependent on what you do, not how long you've been with the company. My most enjoyable achievement to date has to be the opening of the Currys on the Old Kent Road. Turnover for the first year was estimated at £6.5 million, but we actually achieved £8.2 million. It was an amazing success story which didn't go unnoticed.'
