MARK GREEN's love of shopping and interest in gadgets, computers and well, anything electrical, made a career in Buying with Dixons Group 'a bit like walking into my perfect fantasy toy store and going on a massive spending spree.'

'I started my career as a Graphic Designer. Now I'm a buyer for one of the UK's largest retail groups. It's proof that with a company as big and diverse as Dixons Group, anything's possible in terms of career development. Lots of commitment, creativity and skills are needed to give customers a great retail experience. I've had the chance to work closely with key suppliers to help develop their brands, products and profitability - all of which help Dixons deliver a competitive edge of course. You get a kick out of seeing all the plans, forecasts, meetings and negotiations coming together, and having a free-hand to make that happen is one of the most enjoyable and rewarding aspects of my job. I hope to continue progressing within the Buying department, and with the Group expanding both in the UK and Europe, who knows where I'll finish up?'
