to make sure you're happy.'
ESTELLE PARKIN wanted to
learn more about computers, as well as sharpen up her existing
customer service skills while developing new ones. Joining
the Freeserve technical support group in August 2000 gave
her the chance to do exactly that. She's now a Customer Service
Advisor.
'The sheer size of the Dixons Group was quite daunting at
first, but the opportunities on offer with such a prestigious
organisation are second to none. The business does everything
it can to make sure you're happy - we even received a red
rose on Valentines Day and an egg each at Easter. In my time
here so far I've had plenty of contact with new people and
plenty of chances to promote the company - including handing
out Freeserve CDs and signing up customers at the Silverstone
racing circuit. I've tested and recruited people over the
phone, and starred in a corporate video too, which was a good
laugh. My main duties now include answering calls and responding
to emails from Freeserve customers who have technical enquiries.
It's a role that calls for patience, a sense of humour and
the desire to do well. Would I recommend the Dixons Group
to others? Yes, I do regularly. Working conditions are good,
and they really care about their people here.'
