joining.'
JAYNE PERRY was
looking for a job with flexible hours, good benefits and excellent
career opportunities to boot. In October 1998 she joined the
Dixons Group and is now a Supervisor at our North London distribution
centre.
'I was excited by the size of this
company, particularly its training and development, promotion
prospects and pension scheme. I've faced many different challenges
since joining, including picking initial stock for a new store
and checking and loading high volumes of valuable merchandise.
Now as a Supervisor, it's up to me to plan deliveries, manage
staff at the site, make sure all vehicles are loaded correctly
and ensure drivers have everything they need. I enjoy working
here. I really feel appreciated for what I do and I've had
some great training. My most enjoyable moment happened while
I was out shopping actually. I was approached by some of my
team who told me how much they appreciated having me around
to guide and motivate them. This gave me a great feeling and
proves that treating people as individuals achieves the greatest
results. You get real support and encouragement here. I've
developed my skills and used my natural abilities. There's
no reason why I can't aim for a more senior management role.'
